Our group of four spent six hours on the water with Capt. Gus and Mate Chuck aboard Ditch Hag Sportfishing, and the experience exceeded our expectations. From the moment we left the dock until we returned, the service, professionalism, and fishing action were outstanding. The crew worked hard to keep us on fish and made the trip enjoyable from start to finish. We had an incredible time and have already decided to make this an annual tradition. What a great day on the water! We booked this trip to celebrate my son’s 22nd birthday, and the experience was outstanding. The crew worked hard the entire time and truly made the day special. They shared a ton of knowledge about rockfish and helped us learn along the way. Nothing beats bringing home fresh-caught fish to enjoy. We’ll definitely book with them again!

Captain Gus and First Mate Chuck were excellent. They got us on fish right away, and we reached our rockfish limit within the first hour. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable, making the entire trip smooth and enjoyable.

Capt. Gus and his mate, Chuck, did an excellent job from start to finish. Everything was prepared and ready when we arrived, making for a smooth and enjoyable trip. We spent the first part of the day targeting rockfish, and while the bite was a bit slow, we still managed to land a few nice fish. Later, we moved to a different area and spent some time catching perch before wrapping up the day. The crew worked hard, kept things fun, and made the most of the conditions. Overall, it was a great trip and a memorable day on the water.

We went out on a family fishing trip and had a great time. Everyone caught fish, even the kids. Captain Gus worked hard, adjusting spots to keep us on the bite, and his mate was always there to help and make sure lines stayed untangled. This was our first charter fishing trip in Maryland, and we booked a scouting trip with Capt. Gus. My family, a friend, and I had a great time on the water searching for rockfish and trying some bottom fishing. The rockfish were tough that day and just weren’t biting. Even though we didn’t land any, Capt. Gus kept working hard to find them and stayed upbeat the whole time. His effort and determination to locate fish really stood out. We did end up catching some catfish, and he also put us on croaker and white perch, which kept the action going. Overall, it was a fun and memorable day on the water. I’ll definitely be scheduling another trip soon and would highly recommend Capt. Gus and the Ditch Hag for anyone looking for a solid fishing charter experience.

The captain and crew were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the trip. We caught plenty of perch, croaker, and catfish, which kept the action going all day. The crew made sure everyone had a great time and were always ready to help. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend this charter to anyone looking for a fun day on the water.

Most of our group were beginners, and this trip was planned as a family fishing outing. From the start, Captain Gus and first mate Dave made everyone feel comfortable and explained the basics, including fishing season rules and how to recognize areas where fish are likely to be biting. They handled the trolling and carefully set the lines at the right depths, making sure each of us had a fair chance to reel in a fish. Their goal was clearly to help everyone enjoy the experience, and they did exactly that. We all had the opportunity to catch fish and even brought home some freshly filleted Rockfish, which tasted great. Captain Gus also kindly honored our request to head out toward the Chesapeake so we could enjoy the sunset before returning to the marina, which made the trip even more memorable. The boat was very clean, the captain was highly experienced, and the first mate was attentive and helpful throughout the trip. Overall, it was a great experience, and it was clear they truly enjoy what they do.
